Take part in I’m a Mathematician, Stay at home! You can take part; as a mathematician in the activity, as a teacher with your school, or as a funder.
I’m a teacher ❯ I’m a mathematician ❯ I’m a funder ❯
I’m a Mathematician, Stay at home helps your students to stay connected with STEM, and with each other. They connect with the real mathematicians in their zone, as well as their teachers and classmates, in live CHATs. They can also support their learning by sending questions in ASK.
What is a Zone?
The Stay at home activity is divided into zones that each focus on different science topics. You will be assigned to a zone, where you can book a live CHAT, and create a link to give your students access. Student accounts are specific to a zone, so everything your students do will happen in their zone.
Site security and safeguarding
Only students who’ve been given access by their teacher can login to the zone, along with the mathematician and moderators. No personal details are shared on the site, and student content is moderated. For more information, read our safeguarding statement.
Registering students and booking a live CHAT
Once you have filled in the form, we will be in touch with your login details and guidance on how to get your students logged in and book a live CHAT.
Help students stay connected with science, their teachers, and their classmates during the school summer term.
- Connect with students and teachers in 45-minute text-based chat sessions
- Answer questions from students about your work and maths at times to suit you
- Compete for votes to be named Mathematician of the Week
I’m a Scientist, I’m an Engineer, and I’m a Mathematician, Stay at home currently have 12 zones. We are looking for organisations to fund further zones.
Each zone can connect up to 1,500 students with around 50 mathematicians.
